Cape Town City finished fourth in the PSL, missing out on a CAF Confederations Cup place, following a 1-0 final-day loss at Black Leopards.
Khomotso Masia’s 76th-minute goal for the relegation-threatened hosts was enough to hand coach Benni McCarthy’s team defeat on Saturday.
Ahead of the match, Teko Modise was given a guard of honour by both teams after he had called time on his career on Friday.

Veteran midfielder Modise was named PSL Footballer of the Year twice, winning every title in South African football as a star of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 36-year-old, who scored 10 goals in 66 appearances for Bafana Bafana, will take on a new role at City, which has yet to be confirmed.
Thank You Teko. #NewChapterBegins
