A dom boef has been caught on camera stealing a pair of kwaai takkies during prayers at a mosque in Tafelsig.
The skelm can be seen entering the mosque with vuil wit takkies, but leaves with different skoene.
The incident took place on Tuesday just after 7pm at Darul Ihsaan Institute in Tafelsig, which provides madressa classes, an educare and feeding scheme.
Moegamat Fazloodien, who works at the mosque, says he was alerted on Tuesday night that a thief had left one of the men kaalvoet after stealing his blue takkies.

Showing the Daily Voice the footage, he points to where the skelm can be seen entering the mosque wearing white shoes.
The same vuil takkies were found by musallees.
“Here you see him arriving with a pair of white takkies and he is not a regular at the mosque,” says Fazloodien.
Boef walks in wearing white shoes.
The video shows the man taking off his takkies and pretending to be on his cellphone while a small group of men are reciting their prayers.
He is seen stealing the blue takkies and walking out of the mosque.
“We need to warn other mosques in the area, that is why we want to show his face,” says Fazloodien.
“The musallee was looking for his shoes and when we viewed the footage, we saw who had taken it. The man had to be given a pair of
slippers and taken home.”

In 2017, the mosque was hit by a spate of house break-ins, with skelms even taking the fence. A month ago a copper tap was stolen.
“But now we have cameras everywhere, where we can get you on all angles,” Fazloodien says.
