Two suspects clashed at the Mitchells Plain Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday as a group of skollies, accused of trying to buy guns and bombs, appeared in the dock.
This followed an application by the defence team for Lotus River dad, Moegsien Haywood, for the details to be released of the undercover sting which led to him and his bandiete being arrested in Mitchells Plain by the Hawks earlier this year.
Moegsien, the father of notorious murder suspect Ziyaad Haywood, 34, was caught in an undercover operation in May after he allegedly tried to buy AK47 rifles, explosives and hand grenades on the black market, which police sources say was meant to be used to bomb a prison truck and free his son.
Moegsien along with his wife, Juleiga, were arrested for harbouring a fugitive in July 2018 after cops found Ziyaad hiding in a cupboard in their Lotus River home.

Moegsien appeared in court on Tuesday along with Luqmaan Lewis and Ismail Hendricks.
While the state advocate told the court Moegsien’s lawyer could not make it, a tense stand-off between Moegsien and Luqmaan played out.
Moegsien, wearing blue jeans and Tommy Hilfiger jacket, was seen moving closer to Luqmaan and turned his head as he whispered something to him.
A clearly agitated Luqmaan was heard saying: “ Tsek, jy! Jy sê nie vir my nie!”
A cop then shouted, “Ha-ah wat is die?” before beckoning Moegsien to move away from Luqmaan.

Ismail appeared disinterested during the spat and begged the Magistrate for a date for his bail hearing: “ Wanneer kry ek my bail hearing? My ander saak word terug getrek môre.”
As the application was postponed to Thursday and the three left the dock, Moegsien was seen pushing Luqmaan, who turned and gave him a vuil kyk before leaving the courtroom, as he is out on bail.
NOTORIOUS: Haywood, 34
The state has indicated they will oppose Moegsien’s application to get access to the information on the undercover sting, as they were aware that a statement by a 204 witness in the case has already been shared among bandiete in Pollsmoor Prison.
