Coach Steve Barker is hoping his Stellenbosch side’s luck turns soon after their narrow 1-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Tshakhuma FC.
Sunday’s loss was their seventh PSL game without a win and they are now just six points above the relegation zone.
Stellies conceded when Thembisani Nevhulamba reacted first after Thabo Mnyamane’s freekick effort came back off the post on the half-hour mark.
And Barker says: “We conceded a goal from a freekick off the post and didn’t give much away after that.
“It’s just difficult period that we’re going through. There are things that are just not going our way at the moment.
“As long as we continue to work had and continue to believe, I believe we are on the cusp of turning things around.”
Barker reckons his manne just have to keeping plugging away to make their own luck at the moment.
“We had some half-chances that we created, but unfortunately didn’t take them.
“But I thought that the way we played and the commitment of the players was the team that I know we can be.”
With their next match against champions and league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on March 2 a fortnight away, Barker can get back to the drawing board to sort out mistakes in their defensive third and sharpen up their attack.
