Steve Barker has told his Stellenbosch team to dust themselves off and take a giant leap up the PSL.
In a congested bottom half of the league table, second from last Stellies can go level on points with ninth-placed Bloem Celtic with victory in Tuesday evening’s 7.30pm kickoff at Cape Town Stadium.
But with Celtic having a huge goal difference superiority of 11 on the PSL new boys, Barker’s men can only go up to 10th.
And after an encouraging display in their 2-0 defeat to Wits at home on Saturday, the coach believes his team can get the better of their fellow relegation candidates.

Following the Wits game, Barker said: “I think we showed enough character and quality to give us encouragement going forward.
“We’ve got a short turnaround for our game against Celtic. So we have to get over this loss because we have a big game coming up.”
Barker was encouraged by his team’s display against the fourth-placed Clever Boys, having edged Saturday’s visitors in the first half.

New signing Granwald Scott combined well with striker Ryan Moon for a great chance in the 30th minute.
And the experience and quality of former Ajax Cape Town midfielder Scott can add a new dimension to Stellies.
