Former Cape Town City target Robyn Johannes is a Stellenbosch player.
City coach Benni McCarthy was super keen on bringing his former captain back to the club after Wits had released the centreback from his contract last week.
PSL new boys Stellies unveiled the 33-year-old defender yesterday, with agent Glyn Binkin telling the Citizen: “Yes, it’s true that he has joined Stellenbosch. He has signed a two-year deal with an option to extend by a further year.
“Robyn brings a wealth of experience to Stellenbosch and is a winner so I think the team will benefit a lot from him, plus he is a leader.

Meanwhile Binkin explains why the prospect of rejoining City collapsed.
He adds: “Benni wanted him, but [City chairman] John [Comitis] didn’t so we had to look somewhere else. And we are happy with the Stellenbosch deal.”
