Ayanda Patosi is out give Mother City soccer fans something to shout about as he and his Cape Town City teammates fight to bring the MTN8 trophy home.
Patosi and City go to the Moses Mabhida Stadium in a showdown with SuperSport United to make up for missing out on the trophy last season in tomorrow’s 7pm kickoff.
The attacking midfielder has found his form, with his brilliant brace securing City a point at Orlando Pirates last Wednesday.
But apart from more goals and the glory of lifting atrophy, the attacking midfielder from Khayelitsha is driven by another desire.
He says: “It’s going to mean a lot to Cape Town people and also for the boys from the townships.
“They can see that they can also achieve what we are achieving here at City and it’s going to motivate a lot of people in Cape Town.”
Patosi is positive that they will bring the trophy back this time.
He says: “The aim is to work hard in the final and maybe we win the cup.
“But we are going to bring the cup, so I’m not going to say ‘maybe’.
“We’re bringing the cup back to Cape Town.”
