The Premier League and the English football season has been suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Prem bosses and their English Football League (EFL) and Football Association (FA) counterparts yesterday announced the suspension of all action will be extended to April 30 at the earliest after freezing games last week.
They are now committed to ensuring the 2019-20 season is completed after changing an FA law to allow the season to be “extended indefinitely”.
This means that Liverpool will still have their shot at winning a first league title since 1990 and need just two points to be crowned champions when play resumes.

However, the extension of the suspension makes the ambition to have the season finished by June 30 - a stated aim which came out of Tuesday’s Uefa meeting - means they and their fans will have to sit tight until then.
An FA statement reads: “The FA, Premier League, EFL and women’s professional game, together with the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) and League Managers’ Association (LMA), understand we are in unprecedented times and our thoughts are with everyone affected by Covid-19.
The FA, Premier League, EFL and women’s professional game, together with the PFA and LMA are committed to finding ways of resuming the 2019/20 football season as soon as it is safe and possible to do so

“...Our Board has agreed for [the] limit to be extended indefinitely for the 2019-20 season in relation to professional football.
“Additionally, we’ve collectively agreed that the professional game in England will be further postponed until no earlier than Thursday 30 April.
“The progress of Covid-19 remains unclear and we can reassure everyone the health and welfare of players, staff and supporters are our priority.”
