Under-fire Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is desperate for a Champions League win against Valencia on Tuesday night as things get benoud in the Old Trafford hot seat (kickoff 9pm).
Jose’s manne have not won in three games and with all the feuds in the dressing room, there is now talk that the Special One could be out by the end of the week.
He has reportedly even received the kiss of death, a phone call from Zinedine Zidane, the man strongly tipped as the next United boss, to assure him there is no plot going on behind his back.
Unfortunately for Jose, he will know that he did the same thing to Louis van Gaal just months before agreeing to take over from the Dutchman in May 2016.
When Jose was asked about Zidane’s call, the Special One refused to give a straightforward answer.
But he admits that he has spoken to CEO Ed Woodward about his future, saying: “That’s a private matter.
Of his unhappy players, he says: “I don’t believe the players are not honest. I think some care more than others.”
The boss also confirmed that midfielder Ander Herrera, wingback Ashley Young and attacker Jesse Lingard will miss tonight’s European tie.
