Safa president Danny Jordaan is nogal interested to know what Benni McCarthy will get up to next, hinting that there could be a role for him at Bafana Bafana.
McCarthy is a free agent after he was fired by Cape Town City on Monday morning and replaced by Dutchman Jan Olde Riekerink two days later.
Bafana are in a rebuilding phase at the start of their Afcon 2021 and World Cup 2022 qualifying campaigns, with Molefi Ntseki being promoted from assistant to head coach.

And with former national team heroes Andre Arendse and Arthur Zwane involved with Bafana at the moment and the likes of Neil Tovey and Quinton Fortune also having worked in the setup recently, Jordaan could be open to McCarthy playing a role.
Jordaan tells Kickoff: “I don’t know what his next steps or move is, we’ll have to wait and see.
“He’s a South African; he’s a coach in this country and that’s why I say it’s not the end of his career.
“He’s still in the beginning of his career but I don’t have the details, so let me not speak on something that I don’t have the facts around.

“There are too many ifs. Let us sort out the ifs and then I can give you an answer.”
Meanwhile, Safa are on the hunt for a new CEO after acting officer Russell Paul left to work with Fifa in organising the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Paul had been acting CEO since last year after the departure of Dennis Mumble.
