Cape Town City are hunting a fourth PSL win in a row when they travel to face off with Highlands Park in a 3.30 pm kickoff on Saturday.
It will be coach Benni McCarthy and his manne’s second away trip this week after going to Polokwane City on Tuesday night.
And after their impressive 2-1 win over Rise and Shine on their home turf, the Capetonians are confident they can grab another scalp on the road in Tembisa.
City have a four-point advantage over their weekend hosts and Benni will be warning them not to take this game lightly, with the Citizens looking to climb the table.
However, the Bafana Bafana goalscoring legend believes that his squad are starting to hone their competitive edge on the training field and hopes that that newfound sharpness will give them another victory.
He says of his team: “Competition starts on the training field. I think I select players on what they do in training and if they [improve].
“We're starting to find the combinations and gel well. So if you don’t work hard enough, you’re going to find yourself out or on the bench.
“I want to see competition.”
Man of the Match at Polokwane, Thabo Nodada, reckons the team is only getting started. The midfielder says: “There’s something good brewing here at City.”
