Neil Powell says he is proud of how his Blitzbokke finished off their World Sevens Series campaign.
The Springbok Sevens booked their place at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by ending fourth in the standings, relinquishing the title they held for the last two seasons.
Ok, season's done, map updated. Will take a rest for now, before we start afresh in our efforts to leave our country's mark around the world. #WePlayFor You #BestOfUs #ProudlySouthAfrican @castlefreesa @fnbsa @asics_za pic.twitter.com/n3AuYFsoKV

Having clinched bronze at the final tournament of the circuit in Paris at the weekend, Powell praised his side for a strong finish after an inconsistent campaign.
He says: “I’m happy the way the guys pitched up in the [Cup quarterfinals] - I think [it’s] a game that we sometimes struggle to pitch up in in previous tournaments.

“They did really well and were very clinical against Samoa. But unfortunately we couldn’t do the same against New Zealand in the [semifinal].
“But I’m happy how the guys ended off, not just the tournament but the season, with a win against America.”
Meanwhile, Muller du Plessis was selected for the Paris Dream Team along with Vilimoni Botitu and Kameli Soejima (both Fiji), Bush Mwale and Johnstone Olindi (both Kenya), Ben Pinkelman (USA) and Jean Pasquale Barraque (France).
