Temba Bavuma is back in contention for the fourth and final Test against England at the Wanderers.
Not selected in the first three Tests, Bavuma was sent back to his franchise the Lions to get some form and prove his worth to national team coach Mark Boucher.
After scoring only 17 runs in the Lions’ first innings against the Dolphins in their recent four-day clash, Bavuma showed his mental toughness in the second innings to score a career-best 180.
It wasn’t enough to earn the Lions a win, but was enough for Bavuma to earn a recall and possible inclusion in the squad for the fourth Test which starts on Thursday.
With fast bowler Kagiso Rabada banned for the clash, the Proteas are expected to bring in another paceman.

And that plays into the hands of left-arm quick Beuran Hendricks, who has also rejoined the squad alongside Keegan Petersen and Andile Phehlukwayo.
