The Stormers are sweating on the fitness of versatile Springbok star Pieter-Steph du Toit after Saturday’s 24-23 derby win over the Bulls at Newlands.
Du Toit suffered a shoulder injury in the clash, with coach Robbie Fleck saying: “I think it’s just a knock or a bruise on the shoulder, but we’ll know more [today].”
Fleck was impressed by his charges on the day, but says he will have a chat with the players involved in the decision to run the ball from their own in-goal area after the Bulls missed a penalty conversion with the last kick of the match.
The Stormers then conceded possession, allowing the Bulls to score a try which gave them a bonus point for finishing within seven points of their opponents.
Fleck says: “That’s something we will discuss with the players who were involved in that afterwards. We don’t mind a bit of ambition and bravery, but as long as it works out in our favour”
