Members of the Community Policing Forum believe the incident may be gang-related.
It’s believed the shooters, who were on foot, were targeting a man who was also at the garage.
Yunus’ grieving sister, Nabeweya van der Schyff, 47, says her brother was not a skollie.
“He left home to help a friend whose car had broken down. Yunus was a person who helped everyone in the community. He was shot four times,” she says.
Yunus’ friend and another man were shot and injured, while glass doors at the garage were shattered.
Wednesday, grieving family, friends and neighbours visited Yunus’ home and reminisced about his kind nature.
Management at Sasol refused to comment on the incident.
Zainulabideen van der Schyff of the Kensington Community Policing Forum says they believe the shooting was gang-related: “Currently the initial findings of the investigation points at this incident being gang-related.
“The Kensington CPF once again expresses our concern regarding the safety and security of the residents in the Factreton-Kensington area.”
Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, says no arrests have been made yet.
