The son of slain Americans gang boss Jackie Lonte is still on the run after he allegedly slit the throat of his ex-girlfriend, who survived the brutal attack.
Police say Emerson “Emme” Appolis has been on the run for nearly two weeks and they are working around the clock to catch the Athlone man.
On Friday, police spokesperson Mihali Majikela told the Daily Voice they have yet to arrest Appolis: “The suspect is still at large. All leads are being investigated by detectives in an effort to apprehend the suspect.”

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old woman, who has three children with Appolis, is set to undergo a brain scan to determine the exact damage incurred.
Last week the woman told the Daily Voice how Appolis had threatened to burn her with two
different types of battery acid in February, prompting her to open a case of domestic violence against him.
She said their relationship had always been filled with violence, fuelled by drugs and alcohol abuse, but she left him for the sake of her children.
He refused, and on 4 March, Appolis allegedly jumped through the kitchen window of the house in Silvertown and chased after her to a bedroom where he began stabbing her.
Her life was saved by her sister who ran to get help.
She was stabbed six times and her throat nearly cut.
Meanwhile, her relatives say they are battling with authorities to find a safe house for her as they believe her life is in danger from Appolis.
