Uncut heroin with a street value of well over half a million rand was seized in Delft after officers reacted to a tip-off, City of Cape Town Metro Police said.
On Wednesday evening, officers patrolling in the N2 Gateway development area in Delft received information about drugs being held at an address in the area.
Upon arrival at the house just after 6pm, officers found three men in possession of 16 packets of uncut heroin worth R700 000 and over R2 500 in cash.
Three men, aged between 27 and 39 years old, were arrested.
Metro Police’s spokesperson, Sergeant Ruth Solomons, confirmed the bust, stating the suspects were busy packaging the drugs when officers walked in.
“On Wednesday night, at around 6pm, Metro Police officers acted on information they received about drugs being kept at a house at the N2 Gateway development. On arrival, they found three men packaging heroin.”
“Officers seized 16 packets of uncut heroin with an estimated street value of R700 000 and just over R2 500 in cash.”
Three people, aged 27, 36 and 39, were arrested on drug dealing charges and are being detained at Delft SAPS until their court appearance.
