A relative, who asked not to be named, says the meisie didn’t attend school and was at home when a skollie was seen chasing a man down the road.
“He chased that guy down the road, shooting at him. The guy ran into the yard of her house and the guy [gangster] ran after him,” he explains.
“She was standing in the kitchen washing the dishes when she saw the man with the gun. The other guy jumped over the wall and got away but when he saw her, he shot her three times.”
Jamie-Lee’s brother, Robert, 21 says after hearing the shots, he ran home to find his sister with a bullet in her head and two in her neck.
“She was strong and was fighting to stay alive. She moved her head and face. I was holding her tight as the blood came, that is why there is blood on my face,” the heartbroken young man says.
“She was still alive for about an hour, but didn’t say anything. I am still in shock now, I can’t believe she was killed like that.”
Robert and his relatives gathered outside the house as police attended the scene Tuesday morning.
