A teen girl was taken to hospital at the weekend after she was “accidentally” shot by her friend in Hanover Park.
Relatives of Thaakirah Davids, 14, got a skrik when they returned home on Saturday after a day at the beach and learnt the young girl had been rushed to hospital, after being wounded in the shoulder near her ouma’s home in Erie Court.
A witness, who asked not to be named, says the shooting was an accident as the 19-year-old gunman apparently didn’t know there was a bullet in the chamber.

“She was sitting by the wall and the two laaities, her friends, were standing next to her,” explains the witness.
“He didn’t shoot her, the gun was in his pocket and when the bang went off, I saw him jump.
"The gun was broken and he was supposed to give it to someone to fix and the shot went off as he was taking the gun out to give to his friend.
“The neighbours rushed her to the day hospital and he ran away and we haven’t seen him since the shooting.”
Residents claim the 19-year-old is a member of the Ghetto Kidz gang, but the witness denies this.

SHOCK: Schoolgirl shot near Erie Court in Hanover Park.
Aunty Shameema Isaacs, 36, says they rushed to the Mitchells Plain District
Hospital after hearing the Grade 9 Crystal High School pupil was going for surgery.
“The doctor told us it was not crossfire because the
bullet went in from the top and not from the side,” she says.
“The bullet travelled down to her heart, but luckily they were able to remove it and her heart is fine.
“The hospital registered the case and told us her
collar bone was damaged. She is very lucky.”
The aunt has also confirmed that the girl is friends with the alleged shooter.
