The three-year-old girl who was shot in the neck while eating noodles in her Belhar home has been laid to rest.
Andrea Jordaan died after thugs went to her home and opened fire last Tuesday.
She was being fed by her father’s friend when she was shot, while the 28-year old man was struck in the leg and a seven-year-old boy was wounded in the stomach.
Andrea’s heartbroken father André, 35, says they are trying to move on without their little girl: “My wife and I are trying to recover from the incident and we are dealing with everything as it comes.
“Everything has changed but I don’t know what the new normal is going to be because a big part of our life has been taken away.
“I hope that God is going to help us through this heartbreak.”
He says that the community has been assisting them since the loss of their child.
“The people stepped up and helped my family make the funeral possible.
“At the time my daughter was killed, I didn’t have a policy but yesterday I was able to send off my child with dignity and I really thank them for this.”
SAPS spokesperson FC van Wyk says no one has been arrested yet.
