A Lavender Hill mother and her six-year-old son are in hospital after heartless skollies opened fire on them inside their council flat.
Relatives of Michelle van Dieman, 35, say she was struck in the leg and her son, Cayden, in the back on Friday night when the skollies shot at members of a rival gang.
Her nephew, Carlo Mentoor, 27, says the attack happened shortly before 6pm, when the gunmen stormed Parkin Court.
He says: “I am a Mongrel and my two friends that were shot are also Mongrels. Michelle’s husband, Christo, 35, is not a gang member, but he was sitting with us when we were dowwelling. That is when the Fast Guns came and started shooting.”
HURT: Cayden
Carlo says the four men ran for cover inside Michelle’s home and that’s when the gunmen shot Cayden, who was playing in the lounge, in his back, and the mom in her leg.
“They stood over us all and shot and I was shot in my leg,” he says.
“Cayden was shot in his back and the bullet travelled. Now they have to do an operation.
“Christo was also shot in his leg and they say the bullet went through his bone.
“So we are waiting to hear now how it is going with them. They are all still in hospital. I am not sure about the other two that were shot.”

The police’s Andrè Traut confirms the incident and says no arrests have been made.
“Five adults and one child were shot and wounded by two suspects who fled and are yet to be arrested. The possibility that the incident is gang-related is not ruled out,” he says.
