City cleaners got the fright of their lives when they found the body of a missing young woman among refuse in the back of one of their dirt trucks.
Images of the body of Amiena Abrahams, 20, of Hanover Park inside the truck went viral on social media on Monday.
The graphic pictures showed Amiena’s long black hair and face surrounded by dirt at the Cleansing Services Depot in Downberg Road, Hanover Park.
Family members, who rushed to the scene, were overcome with shock.
They revealed that she had been missing since Friday,
31 May, after she had left their home to do “char”
work at a man’s home in
the community.
Frantic family members searched for Amiena over the weekend until her body was found inside the truck.

The family says they were told Amiena completed her work and was paid R40, and that the man she’d worked for had walked her halfway home.
A conflicting report from the man’s landlord, however, claims Amiena never arrived for work and was never seen alive again.
Amiena’s father, Suleiman, was brought to the scene and was in such a state of shock that he collapsed.
Upset family members wanted to storm the gates of the cleansing depot.
One of the victim’s sisters, who asked not to be identified, told the Daily Voice Amiena had been doing char work when she vanished.
It is unclear whether the family reported her missing.

“We last saw Amiena on Friday afternoon when she said she was going to do char work at this man’s house,” the sister explains.
“We were looking for Amiena on Sunday and he told us that he had paid her R40 and walked her halfway home. This man says she was there and that she washed his clothing.
“But his landlord told us that there was no girl there on Friday.”
