Convicted killer Levonna Jacobs has been sentenced to an indefinite period behind bars in which her fate will be decided after 25 years.
The 40-year-old who was convicted of suffocating her aunt, Virna Jacobs, 47, and cousin, Rowena Jacobs, 26 to death and burying them inside their backyard at their home in Delft in 2015, was sentenced to an indeterminate period on Thursday.
Judge Mushtak Parker ordered that after 25 years, Jacobs would be brought back to court where she would face a panel of experts to determine whether she had rehabilitated or to further her term behind bars.
The women’s bodies were dug up by police and family in December 2015 after they were reported missing following the death of Virna’s husband, Donovan Jacobs in March 2015.
Jacobs was deemed a dangerous criminal who was unpredictable and showed no remorse.
