The son of Western Cape Parliamentary Speaker Masizole Mnqasela has been accused on social media of raping at least eight school girls.
Over the weekend, a girl shared a video on Instagram, claiming she was raped in a church.
She says Khanyi Cheezz Mnqasela, 18, has denied raping her but she has “proof”.
“My parents know about this, I have to see his face every day on people’s stories (on Instagram),” she said.
She claims Khanyi was wearing headphones while raping her.
CLAIMS: Khanyi Cheezz Mnqasela
The video received over 12 000 views on Instagram and the girl said she would be making a case soon.
Since then other girls came forward, claiming they too were abused by Khanyi.
Tandile Lufundo said Khanyi was problematic in school but “always got away with it”.
“After we complained about Khanyi at school nothing happened, it was swept under the mat. Which proved his point in which he said he can rape any girl and get away with it because of his dad.”
Speaking to the Daily Voice on Sunday, the DA politician declined to comment on the matter saying: “I am not the subject of this matter as you say, it is my son. You can speak to the family lawyers who are handling the matter.”
Lawyer Frank Raymond says he is unable to comment: “We are still consulting on the matter and it is too early to make a public comment at the moment.”
MATTER: Masizole Mnqasela
Masizole Mnqasela made headlines in 2010 when he was charged with raping a teenage girl at his Pelikan Park parliamentary residence.
He admitted he had a sexual relationship with the matric girl but said on the night of the alleged rape, she had complained of vaginal pain while he was also unable to have sex due to recent surgery.
He said he was “too sexy” to have to rape anyone and was acquitted in the Wynberg Regional Court in 2011.
