Two men, aged 61 and 62, and believed to be brothers, will be making their first appearance in court on Monday after they were arrested in connection with the murder of Amiena Abrahams, whose body was found in a cleansing truck a week ago.
On Saturday night cops were called to a residence in Hanover Park where angry community members were baying for the men’s blood.
This was after allegations were made that the man and his brother were apparently the last two people who saw the girl alive on 31 May.
One of the brothers own the house while the other boards with him.
Amiena’s body was discovered by workers at the Cleansing Depot in Hanover Park in Downberg Road on 3 June.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel André Traut, explains: “This office can confirm that two suspects, aged 61 and 62, were arrested [on Saturday] night in connection with the murder. Both suspects are expected to make an appearance in Athlone court (Monday).”
Family members told the Daily Voice that they had seen the 20-year-old victim last on 31 May when she left her home in Tiberius Court in Hanover Park to do char work at the boarding brother’s home in the community.
The man allegedly told family he had paid Amiena R40 for her work and walked her halfway home.
Relatives said the landlord claimed he didn’t seen Amiena on the day. Amiena’s body was found wrapped in plastic.
