A five-month-old baby is the latest casualty of the ongoing taxi violence.
The infant, a 29-year-old woman and another child were shot and injured while three others were killed.
This brings the death toll to 79, while 61 people have been injured, since the beginning of this year.
This week alone, seven people have been killed and 17 injured.
The bloody feud between Cata and Codeta is over control of the Paarl/Mbekweni taxi route.
Last week a peace accord was signed and taxi bosses said the shooting would stop for the safety of the commuters.
The latest incident happened yesterday while the victims were driving on Mew Way in a Toyota Quantum van marked Codeta.
Cops say they have deployed more officers to deal with the taxi attacks.
Police spokesman Colonel Andrè Traut says: “While detectives are probing the death of three people who were shot and killed in a minibus taxi this afternoon in Mew Way in Harare, additional uniformed officers have been deployed to bring stability to a volatile situation in the area.
“At around 3pm, occupants of a minibus taxi opened fire at the occupants of another taxi.
“Two males aged 32 and 25 and one female aged 22 sustained fatal gunshot wounds while a 29-year-old female and a five-month-old baby were wounded and admitted to a local medical facility.
“We have reason to believe that another child who was a bystander was also wounded and taken away for treatment.
“The suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested.”
Anyone who can shed light on this ruthless attack on commuters is requested to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
