This week’s weather has put a damper on outdoor events but the party doesn’t stop, mense.
The D aily Voice recently teamed up with the mense of Scottish Leader for the Battle of the Bands competition.
The competition has been in full swing for the past six weeks, and this week it’s Heat 7.
On Saturday, the bands competing will be Mo Funk, The Carla Stokes Project, Heart and Soul and Celeste Williams Ensemble.
It’s all going down at Club West End in Rylands.
The bands strike up at 9pm and the dance floor will be open. Entry is R50.
MCs Uncle Cal and Zoggs will keep you entertained.
Each band will perform for 25 minutes, and the winner gets a spot in the finals taking place on 21 March at Hanover Street in Grand West.
The ultimate band wins R40 000 in cash and gets to perform at the iconic Cape Town International Jazz Festival Community Concert at the Greenmarket Square on 25 March.
This concert is free to all.
On Saturday night, a host of local artists are getting together to raise funds for Gouwa Ismail at Belgravia High.
Madeegha Anders, Faghrie Isaacs, Cas Isaacs, Shadley Schroeder, James Bhemgee, Comedian Tolla Funny Kaap, Ghalieb Toefie and more will be on stage.

The show starts at 8pm and entry is R120 for adults, R60 for kids, while a VIP meet and greet ticket costs R150. There will be a live auction, photo booth and refreshments on sale.
