The DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards (DMVCA) takes place in Johannesburg next week but out of 11 categories and 55 nominees, Elsies River’s singer Rowlene Bosman, 22, is the only Capey to be selected.
Rowlene was nominated for Song of The Year, for her collaboration SMA Volume 1 with Nasty C.
The categories include Song of the Year, Favourite TV Presenter, Comedian, Rising Star, Actor, Music Group, DJ, Sports Personality and Favourite Personality of the Year among others.
Rowlene is very opgemaak with the nomination and tells the Daily Voice: “It’s cool to be nominated for this award alongside my boy Nasty C, it’s always fun working with artists of such high calibre.”
The DMVCA also announced this week that they have stripped Sjava of his two nominations amid allegations of rape by his former girlfriend and musician Lady Zamar.
The announcement comes after the Umama singer was also removed from the Cape Town International Jazz Festival line-up.

He was up against Sho Madjozi, Prince Kaybee, King Monada and Dr Tumi in the Favourite Music Artist of the Year category.
He was also nominated for Song of the Year.
The executive head of corporate affairs at MultiChoice South Africa, Reggy Moulusi, said: “The DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards has decided to withdraw the nomination of local artist Jabulani Hadebe (Sjava).”
