Comedians fell over their feet to share their first Noot Vir Noot participation experience on social media.
Mitchells Plain lagbol Mel Jones told the Daily Voice that the all-new Noot Vir Noot is “very kwaai”.
Cape comedians Mel and Schalk Bezuidenhout, together with Joburg acts Melt Sieberhagen and Alfred Adriaan, were the celebrity guests in a special episode at the end of the first season of the musical show with new host popular Emo Adams.
Mel says: “I was called a month ago to ask if I will be a celebrity guest. I immediately thought ‘oooh jinne, did they run out of celebs now they’re calling up the B-grade celebs’.”
On a more serious note, she says the show had “exactly the same format, but just with a little bit of a difference. It’s like the show got a collagen injection”.
The popular Cape performer took over the hosting reigns when Johan Stemmet stepped down after 29 years on our TV screens.

“I left every part of Mitchells Plain at that moment and I gave him my best 7de Laan Afrikaans,” says jokes.
“I don’t see Johan as an uncle, but rather an oom. You see to me, an uncle is a man that can balance a beer on his boep. Mr. Stemmet is more of an oom; there is a different man,” she laughs.
Schalk Bezuidenhout posted a pic of himself and Emo and also one with Johan, and captioned it: “Childhood dream came true yesterday, being a contestant on
ost .” Noot Vir Noot will air in August on SABC 2.
