This pint-sized meisie is taking the dance scene by storm and is already racking up the awards even though she’s only nine years old.
When Leah Miller, from Silvertown in Athlone, told her parents she wanted to be an actress, they had no idea she meant NOW and not later when she grows up.
Leah was five years old when she started ballet as a hobby, but when she went to Groote Schuur Primary School the next year, she discovered hip hop and there’s been no stopping her since.

Her mom, Liezle Miller, 32, and dad, Rafeeq Miller, 30, signed her up for
dance classes.

She was scouted in that same year by professional hip hop dance instructor Elvina ‘Vee’ Da Silva, the owner and director of The Rhythm Factory Dance School in Kenilworth.
Leah is the youngest member, but leads the pack at competitions.
“Ballet was her foundation and now with hip hop, she is expanding so much,” says Liezle.
“Many people approach us to ask about her, so I’m extremely proud.”
Don’t be surprised to see the curly-haired girl with the cute smile pop up in music videos and advertisements.
In 2017, Leah featured in a music video called the Original Swimming Party - Biggest Curse, featuring Moonchild Sanelly.
She was also featured in advertisements even before her mother signed her up with a modelling agency two months ago.
At Cape Town’s Most Wanted, held at the Artscape Theatre earlier this year, she won three medals - two bronze for group dance and solo performance, and one for best entertainer.

Her father says: “Since the age of three, she was already like a drama queen, she had moves and could act.”
Her mentor, Elvina foresees great things for Leah and says she’s a force to be reckoned with.
“She is fierce, confident and humble. I am so blessed to be a part of her dance career. People must watch out for Leah, she is going to be huge.”

“I’m very passionate about dancing. I like it when it’s about me and the music, because dancing gives me that feeling,” she tells Daily Voice.
“Whenever I hear a beat I dance, it doesn’t even matter what kind of beat or music it is. Even when I shower, my mommy must play me a song.”
