The mother of a Parkwood boy who was gunned down while playing outside says she is having a hard time preparing for her first Christmas without her son.
Ezra Daniels, 7, was killed on 3 September when a bullet intended for a gangster struck him in the neck in Abdullah Moosa Walk.
Alleged gang boss, Tasliem “Taliem” Bianchi, along with Ikeraam Bianchi, Marlon Neehuis, Kelly Daniels and Kimberley Solomons were arrested for the boy’s murder and made their fifth appearance at the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
While Daniels and Solomons were granted bail last month, the three men abandoned their bail applications.
The trio appeared via camera before Magistrate Goolam Baw while the women stood in the dock.
TRAGIC: Heavy cop presence when Ezra was shot
The case was postponed to 12 February and the trio will remain in custody at Pollsmoor Prison.
Mom Desiree Daniels says each time she attends a court appearance she relives the pain.
“The first time I went to court I had forgiven them, but when I went back the second time that hatred came back. They show no remorse and I want to know how they would feel if that was their child,” she says.
“I am very sad as Christmas is around the corner and this will be the first one without Ezra. It is hitting us very hard and last week we went to visit his grave at Klip Road Cemetery. We just keep praying but it is very hard, he was just an innocent playful child.”
