The murder case of the five people allegedly involved in the death of Ezra Daniels, seven, has been delayed yet again.
Ezra was killed on 3 September last year when a bullet intended for a skollie hit him in the neck while he was playing in Parkwood.
The alleged leader of the Junky Funkys gang, Tasliem “Thaliem” Bianchi, along with Ikeraam Bianchi, Marlon Neehuis, Kelly Daniels and Kimberley Solomons, were nabbed and appeared at the Wynberg Magistrate's Court on Friday as two of them had applied for bail.
Ikeraam and Neehuis were remanded in Pollsmoor Prison along with Tasliem Bianchi late last year, while Daniels and Solomons were released on bail.
But the bail hearing stalled for a third time last week, when Advocate Adrian Samuels informed Magistrate Goolam Bawa they would not be providing responding affidavits to the statement made by the investigating officer.
The initial statement, in May, indicated that relatives of Ikeraam and Neehuis had refused to provide them with alternative addresses.
They have now changed their minds and provided their consent and Samuels was expected to provide affidavits in response to the officer’s statement.
But he said they would not be doing so and planned to argue the merits of the bail application; however, the State prosecutor was not ready.
Bawa opted to postpone the case to 21 June where the State and Samuels will present their arguments.
The State prosecutor previously indicated they will be opposing bail and Samuels said they can afford R1 500 bail each.
