Sebastian Vettel on Thursday named himself the
biggest enemy as he hasn't given up hope of beating Lewis Hamilton
for the Formula One world title.
Ferrari's Vettel is in a must-win situation at Sunday's Singapore
Grand Prix, trailing the Mercedes driver and title holder Hamilton by
30 points with seven races left in the season.
Several mishaps have cost him throughout the year, such as sliding
off the track in leading position at his German home race, and a
slight collision with Hamilton at the last race in Italy which saw
him to drop to last from which could only recover to fourth place,
while Hamilton went on to win.
"I think the biggest enemy is me," he told reporters at the Marina
Bay track where he has won four times. "I think we have a great car,
I have something to play with and we have all the chances to do it in
our way."
Vettel said he was only looking at himself and the team and not at
Mercedes and Hamilton - that even more as Ferrari appear to have the
best and fastest car at the moment and the design of the turny and
bumpy street course in Singapore should also suit them better than
their rivals.
"We need to look after ourselves and if we do that we have a good
chance to do well and win races and things look good," he said.
