Lewis Hamilton spoils the Ferrari party with a
morale-boosting victory at the Italian Grand Prix for Mercedes after
starting behind both cars from the famed Italian team.
Hamilton passed the pole sitter Kimi Raikkonen in the closing stages
after Sebastian Vettel had fallen far behind after first-lap contact
with Hamilton and eventually had to settle for fourth behind
Hamilton, Raikkonen and Valtteri Bottas in the second Mercedes.
Ferrari were unable to make the most of their superior car as they
remain winless at their home race since 2010 on a painful afternoon
for Raikkonen and Vettel.
Mercedes celebrated a fourth straight win at Monza, with Hamilton
getting a fifth personal top spot there to extend his championship
lead over Vettel to 30 points.
