Sports stars did their bit to honour the legacy of former president Nelson Mandela who would have celebrated his 100th birthday on Wednesday.
In Cape Town, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi and some of his national teammates delivered blankets to nearby impoverished communities.
Ajax Cape Town, meanwhile, welcomed 125 children from 10 different locations across Cape Town to Ikamva for a coaching clinic and life skills programme.
Cape soccer neighbours Cape Town City teamed up with Super Rugby team the Stormers and cricket team the Cape Cobras to roll up their sleeves and assist the Nelson Mandela Foundation and Habitat for Humanity SA in the Cape Town house-build week.
The teams were in Bardale, Mfuleni.
Tributes also flowed in from around the rest of South Africa and the world.
In Gauteng, staff from Cricket South Africa (CSA) and some Proteas players put on their aprons and gloves and got busy packing donated items for Entuthukweni Primary School in Kagiso.
India cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar also joined in on the celebration, tweeting: “Remembering @NelsonMandela on his 100th birthday.
Remembering @NelsonMandela on his 100th birthday. I was extremely fortunate enough to have met him early on in my life. So much to learn, so much to get inspired from. #Madiba100 pic.twitter.com/xMAEDdZhMN
