Jonathan Woodgate is ready to give some payback to Tottenham in their FA Cup third-round replay tonight.
The Middlesbrough manager scored the goal that secured Spurs their last silverware – an extra-time winner with his nose in the 2007/08 League Cup final.
Boro have a big week ahead of them, in which they play Fulham in the Championship, meaning they have a long stay in London and will not be travelling back to Teeside.
Only Spurs have not been kind enough to allow their cup hero the opportunity to train his team at their training base. And Woodgate says: “We’ll be training at a club, we’ve been rejected by a few clubs.
“Spurs rejected us to train down there, we’ve been rejected by a few.
“Crystal Palace said we could train so I’m really happy about that.”

And the former Real Madrid defender took a swipe at his former club, saying: “I thought they would have won something under Mauricio Pochettino.
“I thought he did an amazing job, especially with the budget he had.
“But I’m sure that [silverware] is on the horizon now with Jose Mourinho, because he’s a serial winner.”

Meanwhile, Newcastle host Rochdale in one of the 9.45pm replays tonight, with Miguel Almiron dreaming of the Toon’s first FA Cup trophy since 1955.
The Paraguayan says: “We all want to try and win something. "By doing that, we will go down in history.”
