Stormers coach John Dobson wants his team to be as impressive on attack as they are on defence.
After back-to-back clean sheets - a 27-0 win over the Hurricanes in Week One and a 13-0 victory over the Bulls on Saturday - Dobson is full of praise for his defence.
But he wants to see more of his team with ball in hand.
The coach explains: “Our defence was excellent [against the Bulls], but we’re obviously a bit disappointed with the nature of the game. We lacked rhythm.
“But I mean to go zero points two weeks in a row in Super Rugby is quite an achievement - defence is part of rugby...
“We stopped seven mauls [from the Bulls] - it was disappointing to let them get there all the time.
“[I’d say] we got away with
murder at the end.”
Of what went wrong with his team on attack in what was a stop-start north-south derby, the coach adds: “In the first half, the Bulls put the ball into the scrum nine times, which means we transgressed or forward passed nine times and it just spiralled downwards.
“The Bulls were immense - physically they were fantastic.”
After two wins from two, the Stormers top the Super Rugby log.
They next travel to Johannesburg to face the Lions at Ellis Park on Saturday.
