Manchester United believe they can grab another big scalp when they go to noisy neighbours Manchester City on Saturday night.
After snapping a three-match winless run with a 2-1 win over Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham on Wednesday night, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s span is weer vol selfvertroue.
But goalkeeper David de Gea knows they will need all the confidence they can gather ahead of the clash against the defending champions.
Despite leading City on the overall derby head-to-heads during the Premier League era, United have not had it their way in recent years, winning only seven of the last 20 encounters between the two rivals.

De Gea says: “It’s a special game against Man City, the derby.
“Let’s see if we can win there.
“It’s a tough game but if we show the same as we did [against Spurs], we will have chances to win.”

City themselves are desperate to make up ground on league leaders Liverpool, who they trail by 11 points.
And in-form City midfielder Rodri can’t wait to get his first experience of the derby, saying: “I am excited about it. It’s a great match against a top team, Manchester United – I don’t know what the atmosphere will be.”
