Percy Tau will join an illustrious list of South Africans when he makes his Champions League debut on Wednesday (6.55pm).
The Bafana Bafana star will turn out for Club Brugge against Galatasaray at the Jan Breydel Stadium after being an unused substitute at the weekend.
After winning the Player of the Year award in the Belgian second division with Union St Gilloise, the Brighton winger was snapped up by the Brugge giants.
And the 25-year-old helped the club through their qualification campaign to get to the group stage. Tau and his teammates will be looking for a fast start against the Turkish club with matches against Paris St Germain and Real Madrid also coming up in Group A.
He is set to become the 15th South African to feature in the tournament. The last Mzansi export to the Champions League was striker Dino Ndlovu with Qarabag in the 2017/18 season.

Cape Town City boss Benni McCarthy is still the only SA star to lift the Champions League trophy, winning the tournament with Porto in 2003/04.
