Liverpool painted Madrid red on Saturday night after winning the Champions League for the sixth time in the club’s history.
The 2-0 final win over Tottenham Hotspur at the Wanda Metropolitano came courtesy of Mo Salah’s early penalty goal and Divock Origi’s late strike.
It was redemption for the team after last season’s 3-0 loss to Real Madrid in Kiev and for coach Jurgen Klopp it could not have been a sweeter way to win his first Champions League title.

Celebrating his first trophy with the Reds and his first victory in six finals, the German says: “I’m so happy for the boys, I’m so happy for my family, they suffer every year when we go to a final... they deserve it more than anybody.
“It’s maybe the best night of my life.”
Goalscorer Salah made up for the heartbreak of going off injured after 30 minutes in last year’s final and adds: “Everyone is happy now, I am glad to play the second final in a row and play 90 minutes finally.

“Everyone did his best, no great individual performances, all the team was unbelievable.”
Downcast Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino says the penalty conceded by Moussa Sissoko after just 23 seconds cost his team big time.
The Argentinian explains: “We were unlucky, we conceded a goal on a penalty.

“To start 1-0 down from the start was tough, we changed our plans.
“That [penalty] was the circumstance we cannot manage or prepare for.
“You can never believe you will be 1-0 down after a minute. Mentally it was very tough.”
