Cape Town City is looking to end 2018 on a high.
City started the season off with a bang winning the MTN8, but the Capetonians have sukkeled for consistency in the PSL.
After 12 games in the league, coach Benni McCarthy and his manne have managed to pick up 16 points from four wins, draws and losses, each.
The Citizens have two games before the festive break, starting against Chippa at Athlone Stadium on Tuesday night (7.30pm) before hosting Bloem Celtic at Cape Town Stadium next Saturday.
And against Chippa, who fired former City boss Eric Tinkler last week, the hosts know it will be a tricky game.
City stalwart Taariq Fielies will have to marshal his defence against the likes Mark Mayambela and Thabo Rakhele.
And with the whole Chilli Boys’ squad looking to impress caretaker Joel Masutha, Fielies has warned his team not underestimate their 15th-placed rivals.
He tells the Daily Voice: “I think Chippa is a fantastic footballing side and, ja, they have lots of good tricky players.
“But we can’t focus on their one, two or three players as we will be focusing on our own game.
“It will be tough one as they are wounded team trying to get wins and so are we are prepared for that.”
