Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is trying to rope in giant England defender Harry Maguire.
And he is reportedly ready to splash out a massive £65m (R1153180493.66) to get his target.
Maguire, 1.94m and 100kg, played every minute of Leicester’s Premier League campaign last season and starred for the World Cup semifinalists at the recent 2018 World Cup.
And Mourinho is convinced that the 25-year-old can strengthen his first team.
That means that Marcos Rojo, Eric Bailly or Chris Smalling could be headed for the exit at Old Trafford.
Maguire has already displaced Smalling and fellow Red Devil Phil Jones in the England team.
So the Special One will be ready to make the move if he is given the go-ahead to complete the deal ahead of the August 9 transfer deadline.
Meanwhile, Jose is reconsidering the future of attacker Anthony Martial after the 22-year-old impressed in pre-season despite being linked to Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
Teammate Ander Herrera is backing Martial to come out all guns blazing this season and show the boss he deserves to play more regularly after struggling for game time last campaign as United finished a distant second to Manchester City.
The Spaniard, 28, said. “Anthony looks very sharp and he is very, very focused to smash it this season.
“Players like Anthony, like Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez – they are all amazing players who can change games.
“If one of them cannot play, we have three or four more so we have lots of options.
“We should not think that any other club has better players. It’s all about work and confidence.
“Prem games are fights and wars. We have to be ready.”
Meanwhile, Antonio Valencia has been named new club captain by Mourinho.
