Cape Town City boss Benni McCarthy insists he is “150 million percent” committed to his job as calls grow for him to given the Bafana Bafana job.
Ever since Stuart Baxter walked away from the national team 10 days after South Africa were knocked out of the Afcon quarterfinals in Egypt, McCarthy has been one of the popular choices to take the reins.
In his third year in charge at City, the coach has lifted the MTN8 after reaching a final for the second time his coaching career.
And the 41-year-old says that while being linked to job is flattering, he knows not to get carried away by the rumours.
He tells Timeslive:“There are rumours‚ but you know I have been in this game as a player.

“There were rumours that I was going to go to Manchester United and Chelsea‚ but if I had gotten my mind fixated on those rumours‚ I would have ended up losing my job where I was as a player.
“As a coach I am flattered that my name is floating around for the big jobs.
“It shows that myself‚ my [technical] team and the players are doing a great job if we are getting noticed.
