Powerhouse Springbok No.8 Duane Vermeulen is ready to storm back into action this weekend.
And the veteran loose-forward nicknamed Thor is ready to donder England in Saturday’s first end-of-year tour match at Twickenham.
Vermeulen’s last outing for the Boks was the 25-10 loss to the Roses at Newlands in June and is chomping at the bit for some action.
He missed the Rugby Championship but saw his teammates go to Wellington and beat the All Blacks 36-34 as Rassie Erasmus’ manneupped their game.
And the former Stormer is keen to add his bulk to the resurgence and the Boks’ pack.
Speaking from London, he says: “I am really excited to be back and it’s always so special to be part of the Springboks.
“If I do get the opportunity to play on Saturday, I am looking forward to getting stuck in.
Of missing out on the win over the world champions, he adds: “It’s obviously the game everyone wants to play - you want to play against the All Blacks. The thing the guys did by beating them was amazing.
“I think it was a great atmosphere in the change room afterwards, but that’s in the past now - we still have to keep working forward to our next goal this weekend.”
