Hacjivah Dayimani, who was set to make his Blitzboks debut at the Cape Town Sevens this weekend, has been ruled out of this weekends Cape Town Sevens tournament.
The 22-year-old Lions star was withdrawn from the squad on Tuesday after suffering a flare-up of a previous ankle injury at training.
Dayimani was in line to make his debut for the national Sevens team after playing in his first tournament in this code for the Academy side last weekend.
His place in the side will now be taken by 55-times-capped Impi Visser.

Of Dayimani’s injury, coach Neil Powell says: “Hacjivah has a full season of rugby ahead of him next year and his recovery towards that is more important than our short-term goals for this weekend, so there is no sense in risking him.”
When calling up Dayimani earlier this week, Powell said: “Hacjivah had to recover from an ankle injury when he joined us and that delayed his integration into playing time on the field.”
