He might be little, but this tiny football star has set high goals for himself.
Ten-year-old Tyler Williams from Strandfontein is gearing up to take part in the under-13 Hellenic International Squad tour.
The tour aims to educate soccer players on the culture, football and the educational aspect of the game. Tyler and his team will depart to Freiburg, Germany on 24 September for eight days.
His mom, Leatitia Williams, says her son is a force to be reckoned with when he’s on the field.
“Tyler has an amazing way of controlling the ball and intimidating his opponent. I have full faith in Tyler’s ability to conquer and make it big in his soccer career,” the proud mom says.

Tyler says he’s excited to learn more about his favourite sport. “I can’t wait for the trip. I’m going alone with my team without my mommy and daddy, but I will be fine. I’m a big boy and I will be too busy with soccer to have time for anything else there.”
The team will play four matches and experience the Europa Theme Park and Fifa Football Museum in Zurich.
The total cost of
R35 000 includes his visa, flights, accommodation and food.
Family and friends are now helping his unemployed parents raise funds.
