Legendary paceman Allan Donald became the first South African since readmission to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame on Friday.
He is the third South African overall, following in the footsteps of Barry Richards and Graeme Pollock and the first of the modern era.
While Donald was recognised internationally, local cricketers will square off for the top prize in South African cricket at CSA’s awards evening on August 3.
Proteas captain Faf du Plessis is among the nominees for the top prize of 'Cricketer of the Year,' with the others being Quinton de Kock, Andile Phehlukwayo and Imran Tahir.
