Bulls coach Jake White says his players won’t need added motivation as they gear up to face the Pumas in their final Super Rugby Unlocked match at Loftus on Saturday (2pm).
With the match between the Sharks, in third place on the log, and the Stormers, in second, being called off, the Bulls already have one hand on the trophy. As it stands, they are level on points with those two teams, but with a superior points-difference of 42 and a game in hand.
White’s Bulls need only one log point or to avoid defeat by fewer than 42 points to lit the Super Rugby Unlocked trophy and end a 10-year trophy drought.
White says: “I think every Bulls supporter would appreciate [the trophy].
“We are trying to get some silverware in our cabinet. If they [the players] don’t get motivated for such a great occasion where they can get a trophy after being trophyless for 10 years – that will be the motivation we need for this weekend.”
