Sharks flyhalf Inny Radebe released a music track on social media where he shared his experience of the ill-treatment as a player.
Inny made his Super Rugby debut for the Sharks in their 2016 season but suffered a meniscus tear after just two appearances and was ruled out for a large part of the campaign.
In the song, released on social media on Sunday, Radebe speaks about the corrupt rugby system and racist culture embedded in the South African Rugby Union.
The flyhalf continues speaking about the challenges he faced entering the South African rugby system as a black man and how he hoped to have claimed his rugby jersey based on talent and not through the quota system.
Radebe's song has been hailed as a creative way to express feelings about his treatment as a rugby player in South Africa, and punnets have called for other's experiencing similar treatment to speak out.
