Ajax Cape Town missed out on a massive chance to go to the top of the standings and put themselves in the driving seat for the NFD title and automatic promotion to the PSL.
The Urban Warriors collapsed to a 3-1 defeat away at Royal Eagles at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday.
Promotion rivals Eagles have since taken pole position.
Cape Umoya are finding the going tough at the moment, with a monkey on their back of no wins in four matches (three losses and a draw).
Their latest defeat was against Uthongathi FC that same Saturday away at Princess Magogo Stadium.
Meanwhile, Ubuntu Cape Town are taking their chances and are now two spots clear from the relegation zone thanks to a 3-0 victory against Witbank Spurs at Athlone Stadium.
It will be a busy week for the men from Stellenbosch, owing to TS Galaxy’s involvement in the Nedbank Cup semifinals.
Stellenbosch host the Nedbank Cup finalists at Idas Valley Sports Ground this afternoon at 3pm.
Their next match is against Cape Umoya United at UWC Stadium on Sunday.
That same day, Ajax Cape Town welcome Uthongathi FC at Athlone Stadium, while Ubuntu Cape Town travel to Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium to visit Real Kings.
